# About business verification in Meta Business Suite

</div></div></div><div id="bkmrk-to-access-certain-pr"><div><div><div><div><div id="bkmrk-to-access-certain-pr-1"><div><div>To access certain product and features, you may need to verify your business in Meta Business Suite to help us confirm that your business portfolio belongs to a legitimate business or organization.

Verifying your business helps:

- <div>Ensure your business is a legal entity. Your business needs to be registered with local authorities and you’ll need an official phone number or mailing address for your business.</div>
- <div>Demonstrate you’re an authorized representation of your business. You’ll need to be able to receive a verification code sent to the phone number or email address of your business, or [verify your business portfolio’s domain](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/321167023127050).</div>

Verifying your business may also give you access to select advertising, developer, billing or spending options.

**Note:** Verifying your business in Meta Business Suite is different from [Meta Verified for businesses](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/308979828303560) and won’t give you a verified badge.

</div><div><div>### When to verify your business

</div>Not all businesses need to or have the option to complete verification.

Go to [Security Center](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/security_center) in Meta Business Suite for your business. You’ll see either **Start verification** or **Ineligible for verification**.

However, depending on the product or feature you want to access that requires you to verify your business, you may be emailed or notified from a platform other than Security Center to complete the verification process.

Use the dropdowns below to learn more about some common products or features you may want to use that may require verification. This may not be an exhaustive list.

</div><div><div>### Before you begin

</div>- <div>You can only start the verification process if your business portfolio is [eligible](https://support2.chatarchitect.com/books/business-portfolio-setup/page/about-business-verification-in-meta-business-suite) for verification.</div>
- <div>You must have [full control](https://facebook.com/business/help/442345745885606) of the [business portfolio](https://facebook.com/business/help/486932075688253).</div>
- <div>Depending on the product or feature you want to access that requires you to verify your business, you may be emailed or notified from a platform other than [Security Center](https://business.facebook.com/settings/security) to complete the verification process. In this case, refer to that email or notification for instructions.</div>
- <div>If you use [monthly invoicing](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/2086865811541431) to pay for ads, then you don't need to submit documentation for business verification. When you start the business verification process, you can fill out the form with your credit line information and submit it. If you don't see that option, make sure that the business portfolio you're trying to verify is linked to a credit line that you own, not one that is shared with another business.</div>
- <div>If you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, attempt to claim and verify a business you’re not authorized to represent, or otherwise attempt to circumvent Meta’s verification review system, Meta may prevent your business from being verified, remove your business's verified status or take additional action on the account.</div>

</div><div><div>### Verify your business in Meta Business Suite

</div>To verify your business in Meta Business Suite:

1. Go to [Security Center](https://business.facebook.com/settings/security) in Meta Business Suite.
    - <div>If you cannot access this, then you may not have [full control](https://facebook.com/business/help/442345745885606) of the business portfolio.</div>
2. Click **Start verification**.
    - <div>If you see **Ineligible for verification**, then you don’t need to complete verification in Security Center. However, depending on the product or feature you want to access that requires you to verify your business, you may be emailed or notified from a platform other than [Security Center](https://business.facebook.com/settings/security) to complete the verification process. In this case, refer to that email or notification for instructions.</div>
3. Provide your business details, including the legal business name, address, phone number and website. Check that the details you enter exactly match the details of your legal business entity. Also make sure your business website loads and is HTTPS compliant.
4. Confirm your business details. If no matching record is found, then you can select **My business isn’t listed** or **None of these match**. In this case, you may be asked to upload [official documents](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/159334372093366), such as a business license or articles of incorporation, to confirm the details you entered.
5. Choose a method (email, phone, text message, WhatsApp message or domain verification) to confirm your connection. To confirm via domain verification, follow [these steps](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/321167023127050).

6. Confirm your connection, then click **Done**.

A decision on your verification submission may take up to 14 business days. You’ll receive a notification when the review is complete. If you receive confirmation that your business is verified, then no further action is needed. **Note:** If you [edit your business details](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/322526208728282), then you need to complete the verification process again.
